How Water Cooled Air Dryer Works

The working principle of a water cooled refrigerated air dryer is based on refrigeration cooling and moisture condensation.

1. Hot Compressed Air Entry

Compressed air from the air compressor enters the dryer with high temperature and moisture content.

2. Pre-Cooling Stage

The incoming hot air is pre-cooled by outgoing dry air in the air-to-air heat exchanger to improve energy efficiency.

3. Refrigeration Cooling

The compressed air passes through the refrigeration evaporator where the air temperature drops to around 3°C dew point.

4. Moisture Condensation

When the temperature drops, the water vapor in the compressed air condenses into liquid water.

5. Moisture Separation

The condensed water is separated using a moisture separator and automatic drain system.

6. Heat Removal by Water Cooling

The refrigeration condenser is cooled by circulating water, ensuring efficient heat removal and stable dryer performance.

7. Dry Air Output

Finally, clean and dry compressed air is supplied to the plant air distribution system.
